Check Eligibility & Prepare Documents

Before applying, verify that you meet all eligibility criteria. You must be a registered TNB consumer in Peninsula Malaysia, not have existing solar installations (or be willing to terminate them), and not operate multi-tenant properties. Review your electricity consumption history to determine appropriate system size. Gather required documents including your MyKad/business registration, latest electricity bill, and property documents.

Submit Application to SEDA Malaysia

Your chosen installer will help prepare the complete application package. This includes the application form, technical drawings, certificates, and supporting documents. For systems over 5kW (single phase) or 15kW (three phase) for domestic, or over 72kW for non-domestic, you'll need a Connection Confirmation Check (CCC) or Connection Assessment Study (CAS). Submit your application through SEDA's eATAP online system with the required fees (RM7.50 per kW) and complete it no later than 3 months after submission.

Install, Commission & Start Saving

18 months maximum

Once approved, you have 18 months to complete installation. Your installer will mount the panels, install inverters and metering equipment, conduct testing and commissioning, and submit completion certificates. TNB will install the bi-directional meter. After final inspection and system activation, you start generating clean energy and earning bill credits immediately. Your 10-year Solar ATAP contract begins from meter installation date.
